Product Description:

Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine concentrate is the fastest, easiest and the most environmentally friendly way to wash any vehicle. It’s proprietary polymers bond to the vehicle surfaces and trip dirt to clean without rinsing and leave a very slick & glossy finish that is mar-free. Properly used you will not scratch vehicle surface. Follow with Optimum Car Wax for maximum protection, shine and slickness.

Directions:

1. Add 2 capfulls (1 oz.) to 2 gallons of water in a bucket
2. Soak Optimum or other high quality microfiber towel in wash and do vehicle one section at a time.
3. Dry each section with Optimum or other high quality microfiber towel.
4. If surface dries before wiping clean, just reapply, wash and dry.

Note: Excessively dirty surfaces may require a second wash before drying.

To use as a clay bar lube, add 2 full oz. of Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine Concentrate to 1 gallon of water.

To make the optimum quick detailer, simply add 6 oz. of Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine concentrate to 1 gallon of water.

How to use Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine

Please read the instructions before using this for dilution ratios and usage. Be gentle and use the proper wash techniques such as using wash mitts, two buckets, washing from the top down, etc.

• Pour in an ounce of optimum no rinse wash & shine solution in a bucket the fill with a couple of gallons of clean water. This could vary depending on the size of your car so adjust accordingly.
• Get a measuring cup if you can, so you will be measure accurately and maximize each bottle you use.
• If you don’t have a measuring cup, use around two cap fulls for every 2 gallons of water.
• Fill another bucket with clean water so you can rinse the dirty wash mitt as you wash.
• You can use one bucket but I recommend using two buckets to reduce the risk of swirl marks on the paint.

The instruction says to wash one section at a time, make sure to dry that section as soon as you finish so that water spots don’t form. Get a big waffle weaved towel, one should be enough but get an extra towel just in case the first towel gets soaked.

If you’re car is really dirty and has caked on dirt, I suggest you wash it with a hose and bucket first before doing this. If that is not possible use a little more rinseless solution in your mixture for added lubrication.

Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine Review

Pros

• Simple to Use: Getting the right mixture is easy, use at least two cap fulls of the product per one to two gallons of water, you could use more or less its up to you. It took me a couple of washes to get it right for my car. Product works as advertised, dirts sticks on the wash mitt as you run it over paint and you don’t need to rinse.
• Time Saver: With this product, I was able to wash and dry my vehicle in around half an hour, normally it would take me more than an hour to wash and dry the whole car. That could vary though, depending on your pace and the size of your vehicle.
• Eco Friendly: The biggest benefit I noticed here is the amount of water you save. I would normally use 2 buckets – one for the upper half, another for the lower half and wheels and gallons more when I rinse before washing, in-between soaping the panels and after washing. With this product, I only use the water in the two buckets, that’s roughly around 2-3 gallons of water and I don’t need to mop excess water of the whole garage.
• Great Value For Money: A 32 ounce bottle can give you around 32 washes more or less if you follow the dilution ratio for a rinseless wash. In addition to that, you can also use this product as a clay lubricant and a quick detailer, depending how much solution you mix with water. That’s three uses with this one product.
• Added Protection: After washing, I noticed that the finish was more shiny and slick compared to a regular car shampoo.
• Effective Wheel Cleaner: I dipped the wheel brush in the no rinse wash mixture then carefully brushed the rims and tires. Brake dust and dirt came off easy. This stuff works great on wheels too! What’s nice about this is that it leaves behind a nice slick finish.

Cons

• Availability: Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine is not readily available in retail stores here in the Philippines and I have to order it through Amazon. I have to check if it’s on display on the next car show.
• Price: At around $16 per 32oz bottle, it is more expensive than car shampoo like a Meguiars NXT Shampoo which goes for around $11 for a 64oz. bottle.

Verdict

I was skeptical when I first heard about this product but Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine lives up to its claim and did not disappoint.

This product is a true no rinse wash solution that doesn’t leave a soapy feeling so you just wipe and not rinse after washing saving you a ton of water. Can this product replace a traditional hose and bucket method? I think it can to a certain extent, user discretion is advised though.

As you dip the wash mitt in this light bluish optimum no rinse wash solution, you will notice that there won’t be any suds or bubbles as a car shampoo mixture so you might think that this won’t clean effectively but it really does, dirt will stick on the wash mitt as you wipe it over the car.

It cuts washing time significantly because you don’t have to do a lot of rinsing pre and post washing.

Works well on wheels too, saving you money on buying a separate product for that.

This product is great if you live in cities with water restrictions or if a hose and bucket method is prohibited, great as well if you live in an apartment or condo where regular washing not be possible. Regardless, this is a great product overall that you can use in place of a car shampoo, my only concern right now is availability issues outside the US.

I think we all benefit by using this product, mother earth will be happy too with all the water you save. Usually after every wash, I leave behind a huge puddle of soapy water on my garage going into storm drains, this time it’s just a wet garage floor, no puddles. Don’t be concerned about the price because you’ll recoup that with all the water you’ll save.
